She Said, Slow Down Stranger, There Are Two Kinds Of Good...

Hi there,

Sorry, I got distracted by the cutest kids in the whole wide world. I've just been down here in San Diego, flirting with the sunshine and getting spoiled with love and cuddles. We went and saw Cinderella last night and we all loved it. It was incredibly nostalgic for Kae and I, which is probably because it stayed quite faithful to the Disney version. The costumes and sets are to die for, also.

All in all, I've just been enjoying my vacation. We've also spent a couple evenings out sans children which have been a lot of fun. I can't believe that it's almost over already... time flies.

And I'll Back You Up As Your Frontman...

Hi friends...

Spring break already? Are you sure? Yup. I can tell because currently, I am sitting next to my brother's pool with a terrible hangover. Yes, feels like spring break to me. It's only vaguely chilly but the sun is shining. I'm already having a totally awesome time out here. Each time I see that little niece and nephew of mine I am shocked not only by how adorable they are but how much they grow in just a couple months. I saw them at Christmas but feel like they've already grown half a foot. Granted, Oscar for sure takes after dad's side of the family, just like Kae. Oscar will probably be ten feet tall too. Willa also caught that jean... me however... five eight and have been since middle school. I take comfort in the fact however that little Marley takes after her mom, so I'll always have a couple inches on her at least. Sorry, got off on a tangent.
So, here I sit basked in sunshine and totally loving it. I got in on Friday night and then last night, Kae and Vikki and I went out to belatedly celebrate Kae's birthday which was on the 3rd. It was so much fun but I may have had a wee bit too much to drink... but I'm kind of a lightweight, I always have been. I'm hoping that in a couple hours I'll be recovered enough to do something fun with the little ones. Just... not until the computer screen stops swimming...

There's A Key On My Piano That I Play For You...

Hi everyone!

So, we're home now and Vancouver is just as beautiful as I remember it. I always like the first couple days home from a holiday, I'm always really grateful that this is my home. Of course I'll miss my family but I just love being in my own house.
The day before our last day in New York was Ben's 28th birthday and to celebrate he and I went out to dinner and had a couple (*cough* a lot *cough*) of drinks. It was really fun and after I'm done here, I'll be posting what I got him this year, so look out for that.
The next night we had a farewell dinner with my family at home. It was a really good time and I shed a few tears (of course). We flew home the next day and had a quiet night at home, unpacking and doing laundry. On the 26th we went and had dinner with Ben's family to celebrate his birthday belatedly. And since then I've just been doing end of summer things... re-organizing our closets and getting ready to go back to work. Ben is flying out to London next week for work for I'll be alone in house for a couple weeks. I don't really mind. The first few weeks of work is always a bit stressful so it's probably safer for Ben if he's out of the country.
Anyway, below is the outfit post you're actually here for. I got a few days this time but not as many as have become the norm around here. Promise to be better in the fall. Look out for Ben's birthday loot post and just generally enjoy your day.

Cassie Dances Madly Like A Boxing Kangaroo Spinnin' On The Spot...

Hi there...

How much trouble am I in? Forgive me, things have just been so crazy as the summer begins to wind down. Let me see... what's been happening?... My cousin finally had her twins on the 12th so we all welcomes little Clover and Sadie into the world. Hannah was overjoyed to have it be over which I totally don't blame her, I can't imagine being pregnant with twins. Hannah's older daughter Alma was super jazzed to be a big sister and already mothers them like crazy.
Other than that it's really just been summer stuff. All the siblings (Kae, Willa and I) went out to dinner on the first which was fun. Nights like that used to just be Kae and I but with Willa old enough now it's even better.
Mom took all us girls out for shopping and a special dinner on the 6th. That was really fun. I know that we see each other quite often but I love it when we're all together and totally miss the days when we were together everyday. I guess that's what happens when you grow up.
We all had a Robin Williams movie marathon when he died. It was a very sad day for us all, especially me and Kae as 'The Dead Poet's Society' has always been one of out all time favourites. My love and prayers go out to his family. I know that he's in a better place now.
Ben, Kae and Willa's boyfriend Daniel have really seemed to bond this summer which Willa is beyond thrilled about.
Sunday is Marley's birthday so that is gonna be really fun. We're all gonna get dressed up and have a dinner picnic on the beach if the weather agrees which I'm sure it will as it's been beautiful lately.
Yeah... that's about it.
In other news I have a super, super, super huge outfit update for you all. Like so long that I am gonna split it up again. Sorry. I hope you're all having a super fun summer and hope that you haven't completely forgotten about me in my absence. I adore you all.

If You Wear This Night You Can See Forever...

Hi all!

Sigh, okay so... I'm here in San Diego right now visiting my family for spring break. I meant to post this right away but I've just been far too busy having a good time to bother. I'm here now though and I have a major outfit post. I like these spring break trips because they give me a chance to figure out how I wanna dress for spring and summer before they actually start. Apparently cardigan sets are the thing for me this spring... keep it posted for examples.
The last few days have been lovely, the sun is shining... well at least more than it is back home, the kids are excited and everything is all rainbows. I've spent my days lounging around, going out for dinner with my bro, and having a very much needed spa day with mom. Coming up we'll hitting the California attractions with my little sister, niece and nephew, First up, Sea World and then if the weather holds up this weekend, we'll do the zoo. I may have done a little shopping today as well...*shrugs* what? Hope you're spring break is as awesome as mine!
