Hi again...

So this is all about the number one man in my life. My hubby, the love of my life, my sweet sweet treasure... Ben.
I did good this year. During the summer, I tried out a new style for him and it seems to have really stuck. This look really suits Ben and he seems to like it, which is something that doesn't happen often. He always wants to look way fancier than his job requires. I think that this is a good balance.

Okay so...

I honestly never have trouble shopping for my sisters. Willa and Ruby always look good in everything so when I'm out shopping for them I'm always like 'Ohh this is nice' and 'Oh my God this is amazing' and before I know it, I have enough to give them for the next three Christmases. This year was kind of the worst in a while because Ruby now fits into adult clothes so I decided to go to Kate Spade... BIG MISTAKE! I got her so much stuff.

The Joy Of Gift Giving: Birthdays 2014 - Ben...

 So, August 22nd was my husband Ben's Birthday. I can't believe that when we met he was just a slightly geeky twenty-two year old musical engineering student with a hilarious sense of humour and fantastic taste in music. We quickly became friends after meeting at a party thrown by mutual friends and about three months after we met, we became a couple. It's the best thing I've ever done and now I have a mature, funny, intelligent, and gorgeous twenty-eight year old music engineer husband. I think I'm pretty lucky. Now, I know that I've talked about how hard it is to shop for Ben but this year it was actually not that bad. My inspiration was Spike Jonze. I like Ben slightly nerdy... what can I say? It's hot.

Busy times around here. I've been lounging and snuggling and laughing and swimming and just generally having far too good a time to be chained to the computer. That said, today is my amazing mother's birthday! On this day 51 years ago in a town just outside of Sicily, my beautiful mother was born. A Dark Heart Is Beating And Waiting For You...

Hi there,

Time for part two of my massive outfit post. Sorry, I had to wait until after work to post it as lunch came and went quicker than expected.
By the way, was anyone else pissed that there was no 'Game Of Thrones' last night. I was like legitimately mad, until I saw that they were showing 'The Normal Heart' in it's place and I was like 'okaaay...' because in my opinion Jonathan Groff is the sexiest gay man ever. And before you even ask, yes, I did cry like a little girl. I'm also watching a new show called 'Penny Dreadful' which is basically a less PG version of 'The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen'. I have to admit that I'm actually loving it... even if I spend half the show hiding under the blankets... I'm a chicken, I admit it. It was even worse because Ben is away so it's just me in this scary house... with the scary TV show.

Please Don't Confront Me With My Failures, I Had Not Forgotten Them...

Hey there,

Do you guys know those days when you wake up just feeling like total shit? That was me this morning. I slept in until about 10:00... I know, I was totally shocked too. I usually get up at 5:45 on the dot every morning but not this one. Apparently, I needed the extra five hours. Anyway, I woke up after having just the most horrible nightmares all night, with a horrendous headache and a puffy face. I'm not entirely sure what the deal was but... I'm blaming both the disgusting weather and a late night viewing of The Bletchley Circle on Netflix. I tried to go on with my day, I showered, got myself dressed nicely, worked on the new Birds And Beas line for the summer and talked to Willa on the phone for nearly two hours. For those of you interested, my genius, darling little sister is doing wonderfully out at Cambridge and has even scored herself a man. I knew it wouldn't take long before one of those smart university boys caught on to her beauty and wit. Anyway, I'll be meeting this mysterious Daniel during the summer, when they fly into the Hamptons. I'm pretty excited. Anyway, between my marathon morning and my terrible headache, I am now currently, back in my pajamas and am about to watch my favourite movie (About Time) while curled up on the couch. What can I say? It's the weekend, so I'm calling this day a win. Ooh! My lovely husband has just brought me home a Wendy's Frosty... did I ever mention that I have the most wonderful husband ever? Back off ladies, he's mine!

Sleep Little Darling, Do Not Cry And I Will Sing A Lullaby...

Hi there everyone!

This one here is probably gonna be a rather long post, but I'm trying to get a lot done so bare with me. First up, how do you like the new design? I think it looks rather good. Perhaps not quite as good as the last one but... I'm resigned.
Second, it was my brother's birthday yesterday and I skyped with him for like two hours after work. I can't wait until spring break when I get to see him. I have officially ordered my Orla Kiely stuff to take with me and the lady I talked to on the phone assured me that it would arrive before I left. I have a retail therapy post sitting in the drafts, just waiting for a couple last minute item before I post it. So watch for it.
Third, I've posted my favourite looks from Sunday's Academy Awards. There were lots of pretty dresses to choose from but I think the ones below are my favourites. My favourite moment? Karen O And Ezra Koenig's performance of 'The Moon Song' was so beautiful, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
And lastly, I have an outfit update for you. It's only been about five days, so I'm not that far behind. I've been good.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the Oscars and have tons of fun things planned for the upcoming spring break.

Oscar Favourites

1. Lupia Nyong'o in custom Prada. This colour was so absolutely stunning on her that I almost forgot for a moment that the actress herself, bugs the crap out of me.

2. Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive. Some say that this colour washes Cate out, but I couldn't disagree more. I think so looks soft and classy (what else is new) and absolutely gorgeous. 

3. Julie Delpy is Jenny Packham. This dress is so perfect for Julie, it's like it was made for her. I absolutely love it. The beading and the old hollywood-ness of it. Perfect.

4. Jessica Biel in Chanel Haute Couture. I love this because it's so sleek and chic but the colours make it soft still. I love that wore her hair down with it. 

5. Karen O in Camilla Stærk. I think that this dress is amazing on her, so vampy and old hollywood-ish yet still classy. I loved the red one she wore while performing too.

You Fought In My Corner, Would You Do It Again?

Hi there everyone...

Another lunch time update, I'm getting pretty good at these. How's your week been? I've been taking it pretty easy, I've been so tired lately that all I can do is loaf about. But that's okay because pretty soon, it'll be vacation time and I'm pretty excited for that. In just a couple weeks I'll be under the California sun with my lovely family, hopefully rocking some new Orla Kiely. I'm planning a retail therapy session post, hopefully for tomorrow but we'll have to see how it works out. In the meantime, I'm planning what I'm gonna make for my Oscars dinner party on Sunday. I'm excited for the awards this year, it's the first year in a couple that I've managed to see every one of the movies before the awards. Yay me! So yeah, we've invited a few friends over to watch with us, but I'll probably end up texting with Kae all night... oops. I'm thinking lots of appetizers and cocktails. Pretty straight forward. Are any of you going to an oscar party? Or is it just a glass of wine and pizza in front of the tv... now that I think about it, that sounds nice... maybe next year... okay, I'll probably end up hosting another party next year. What can I say, I like to be the hostess. As usual, I'll also try and tweet a little during the show. You guys follow me right? :)

Sorry about yesterday's lack of movie Monday post... I got sucked into watching some sappy Valentine's Day movie on tv and then I got too tired. Sorry.
